Two majestic Brown Pelicans cruise over the waves in this glowing ocean-scape. I created layers of blues, greens and golds, some in transparent paints and some with heavy granulation and a bit of iridescence (and if you look closely you will see the tiny fish under the waves). This is one of the most recent paintings in my Tides Series. I love the splashy energy in this piece and never tire of seeing the pelicans just barely clear the reach of the waves.
